DJ Lagway inks NIL deal with T-Mobile, films commercial with Patrick Mahomes, Rob Gronkowski

After an impressive freshman season at Florida, DJ Lagway is looking to take a step forward in 2025 as the Gators’ full-time starter. He’s also thriving in the NIL space and added another high-profile deal to his portfolio.
Lagway signed an NIL deal with T-Mobile. He also filmed a commercial with Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and former NFL star tight end Rob Gronkowski as part of the partnership, and it released Thursday.
The ad is part of T-Mobile’s “Beyond The Game” campaign and features the three stars reflecting on the impact of high school football. For Lagway, it marks his latest NIL venture, and his On3 NIL Valuation sits at $3.7 million ahead of his sophomore season.
Lagway arrived at Florida last season as the crown jewel of Florida’s recruiting class. He was a Five Star Plus+ recruit and the No. 3 overall player from the 2024 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking. He sat behind Graham Mertz on the depth chart initially, but later got his chance at the starting job after Mertz suffered a season-ending injury.
Additionally, Lagway has become one of the biggest names in college football. His $3.7 million On3 NIL Valuation ranks No. 6 in the college football NIL rankings. It also puts him at No. 7 in the On3 NIL 100, the first of its kind and defacto NIL ranking of the top 100 high school and college athletes ranked by their On3 NIL Valuation.
In addition to his partnership with T-Mobile, Lagway’s NIL portfolio includes deals with Gatorade, Nintendo and Epic Games, as well as Leaf Trading Cards and the Florida-focused NIL collective, Florida Victorious. He launched the Lagway Foundation in partnership with UF Health earlier this year.

In 12 games last season, Lagway threw for 1,915 yards and 12 touchdowns to nine interceptions. However, his year was cut short due to injury, and he was limited in spring practice due to a separate issue.
Speaking at SEC Media Days last week, DJ Lagway said he’s now back to full strength. His focus is now on getting ready for training camp.
“I don’t have a prosthetic arm,” Lagway joked. “Just letting you all know that. … But I’m feeling great. Training has been amazing. I’ve been working – I’m actually getting better. I’m not just getting back to throwing the ball.
“I’ve been working on mechanics that’s going to help my accuracy this year, help my decision making. It’s been great. I’m just excited to get out there with the guys on the first game.”
