Earlier this week, Nebraska unveiled special black uniforms for this year’s matchup against USC. Dylan Raiola participated in the photoshoot with adidas, which included traveling about 40 minutes.

Raiola has an NIL deal with adidas, meaning he can wear the company’s gear during games since Nebraska is an adidas school. He was also able to show off the new uniforms during the reveal, and he shared his excitement to wear them on the field. The jerseys also became available for sale on Friday.

But during the photoshoot, he noticed the amount of bugs in the area. After all, they were in the middle of a cornfield. It was a first for Raiola, who also learned the importance of leaving the husks.

“We went to Seward, Nebraska – it’s like 40 minutes [away],” Raiola told reporters Friday. “We were basically dressed in the car, and we went out there. It was nighttime, the bugs were crazy. … It was pretty cool.

“I’d never been inside a cornfield. To actually see the husk of a corn, I asked if I could take one home, but they said, ‘This is one of our donors, so don’t touch it.'”

While standing in the middle of a cornfield at night, Raiola also saw an opportunity to have some fun at his teammates’ expense. Vincent Shavers and Jeremiah Charles were with him for the shoot, so they decided to scare each other.

“I was with Vincent Shavers and Jeremiah Charles, and kind of jump-scared them because we were shaking the branches and making loud noises because it was dark,” Raiola said. “In the video, the lights are flickering, so they couldn’t really see unless the light was showing. So we could kind of jump-scare them if we wanted to. It was fun. It was a cool shoot.”

Dylan Raiola joined adidas this summer

As Dylan Raiola prepared for his sophomore season at Nebraska, he joined forces with adidas. It’s the latest notable venture for the former highly touted recruit, who has a $2.3 million On3 NIL Valuation.

Through the agreement, Raiola will take part in adidas marketing campaigns. And since Nebraska is an adidas school, he can wear the company’s gear in games. It also opened the door for him to get a sneak peek at the new black uniforms for the USC games as he wore them during the photoshoot.

But as much excitement the uniforms are generating, Raiola also pointed out the importance of getting the job done on the field. That said, he’s all in on the new look.

“We love them,” Raiola said. “The whole team loves them. We all love them. Hope our fans come out to the USC game and rock their black. I think it’s something special.

“I think honestly to show that a uniform can’t define, ‘Oh, are we going to win this game because we’re wearing this?’ It’s our process, it’s our journey, it’s what we’ve been through together.”
