Spencer Rattler’s 2022 stats, NIL profile

In January, Rattler announced on Twitter he was returning to the Gamecocks as a fifth-year senior for the 2023 season, using a clip from “The Wolf of Wall Street.” His tweet has more than eight million impressions, according to Twitter.

As a high school recruit from Pinnacle High School in Phoenix, Rattler was ranked as the No. 15 recruit nationally and the No. 1 quarterback prospect in the 2019 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He enrolled at Oklahoma after he also received reported scholarship offers from schools including Alabama, Miami, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M.

Rattler’s best season at Oklahoma came in 2020 when he threw for more than 3,000 yards and posted a 28-to-seven touchdown-to-interception ratio.

He transferred to South Carolina after the 2021 season. Last season, Rattler completed more than 66% of his attempts for 3,026 yards, 18 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. His best game of the season came in a 63-38 win over then-No. 5 Tennessee, when he completed roughly 81% of his 37 attempts for 438 yards, six touchdowns and zero interceptions. It was the Volunteers’ second loss of the season, essentially eliminating them from College Football Playoff consideration.

The Gamecocks then won on the road against Clemson the following week to finish the regular season with an 8-4 record. South Carolina finished in third place in the SEC East behind Georgia and Tennessee with a 4-4 conference record. Notre Dame defeated South Carolina 45-38 in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl.

Rattler has an On3 NIL Valuation of $1.1 million, which ranks No. 20 in the On3 NIL 100 and 14th among college football players.
