
<p>Buffalo Bills running back <strong><a href="https://www.on3.com/rivals/ray-davis-99114/">Ray Davis</a></strong> turned 26 Thursday. What better way to celebrate your birthday than by hitting pay dirt. </p>



<p>Yes, all touchdowns count the same. Some, however, are more electric than others. For Davis, this was arguably his finest moment in the <strong><a href="https://www.on3.com/pro/category/nfl/news/">NFL</a></strong>. Late in the second quarter of Thursday’s Week 12 road game against the Houston Texans, Davis <a href="https://x.com/NFL/status/1991697592435327283">returned a kickoff back the other way for a 97-yard score</a>, his first career kickoff return touchdown. </p>



<p>Davis started his run at the 3-yard line, pinballed off a teammate near the 30-yard line and exploded into the open field. He easily maneuvered past Texans kicker <strong><a href="https://www.on3.com/rivals/kaimi-fairbairn-146335/">Ka’imi Fairbairn</a></strong> and ran into the end zone untouched. </p>

<p>Davis’s house call gave the Bills a 16-13 lead. The Texans, however, scored with five seconds remaining before halftime, taking a 20-16 lead into the locker room. </p>



<p>Davis, the 2024 fourth-round selection out of <strong><a href="https://www.on3.com/teams/kentucky-wildcats/">Kentucky</a></strong>, has hardly seen much of the ball on offense this season. He entered Thursday’s game with 24 carries for 44 yards and four receptions for 18 yards. </p>



<p>Davis has been a major contributor on special teams, with a 30.6-yard return average on kickoffs. He has become a weapon for Buffalo, and he finally finished one off against the Texans. </p>
