Brexton Busch honors dad Kyle with latest victory celebration

Racing is a family sport, and for Kyle Busch and his son Brexton, that is an understatement as they travel dirt tracks along the NASCAR schedule. If there is a dirt track near the Cup Series race, you can almost bet that the Busch family is showing up.
The older that Brexton Busch gets, the better he gets on the track. He won a Golden Driller earlier this year at the Tulsa Shootout. His dad, Kyle Busch, hasn’t been winning as much in his full-time job in NASCAR.
With Rowdy continuing his winless streak, it was nice to see Brexton get another win. Then, the young racer decided to throw out this signature celebration, one made famous by his dad. See if you can tell the difference between these two videos.
Brexton was able to get the win by just 0.022 seconds.
Like I said, racing is a family sport. Tradition fuels racing, and especially NASCAR racing. Kyle and Brexton Busch have a very close father-son relationship, and it shows. Whenever Kyle finally snaps that winless streak, and he will, the celebration with Brex is going to be epic.
Unfortunately, Rowdy had another tough weekend on the Cup Series side of things. He looked like he was going to run up to the front of the race, and then he was spinning out and wrecking into the Brad Keselowski chaos that included a few other drivers.
Busch rallied back to P20. His teammate, Austin Dillon, finished P7. Richard Childress Racing had the cars to compete, but things didn’t work out for the No. 8 team.

Kyle Busch is on to the next opportunity
At this point, Kyle Busch has to be wondering what he did to deserve all of this bad fortune. Maybe this is his way of paying back for all of the lucky moments he has had. Or maybe this is retribution for stealing that 2015 title from the field after missing so many races due to injury.
Whatever the reason, Busch is having issues on a weekly basis. If he has a fast car, he gets into trouble on the track. If he has a slow car and finds a way to make it fast later in the day, it is usually too late to actually contend for a win.
Right now, Kyle Busch is 16th in points. It could be worse, but he’s already on the outside looking in as far as the NASCAR Playoffs are concerned. Either Busch has to earn more stage points to move up in the standings, or he has to win a race. Straight up.
Right now, Josh Berry is the only driver not in the top-16 in points to have a spot in the playoffs as a result of a win. That number is likely to grow with regular season races at Atlanta and Daytona left on the schedule. You can probably write Shane van Gisbergen’s name in the playoff sheet with upcoming road and street course races.
