Davis Mills engineers wild Texans comeback over Jaguars in CJ Stroud's absence

The Houston Texans trailed the Jacksonville Jaguars 29-10 after three quarters of Sunday’s Week 10 matchup between AFC South foes. But then, the fourth quarter happened.
The Texans, led by quarterback Davis Mills, filling in for the injured CJ Stroud, outscored the Jaguars 26-0 in the final 15 minutes of play. Houston scored four touchdowns in the fourth quarter, but it was Mills’ 14-yard rushing score with 31 seconds remaining which went down as the game-winning score. Houston toppled Jacksonville 36-29.
Mills, 27, was making his first start since being replaced by Stroud as starter ahead of the 2023 season. And for much of Sunday’s game, Mills and the offense struggled. They got it going in the fourth, Mills engineering three separate scoring drives.
Mills finished the game 27-of-45 for 292 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He rushed for 20 yards on three carries, most of that coming from the 14-yard score.

Texans get back on track after outstanding 4th quarter performance from Davis Mills
The Texans needed this one, coming into the game at 3-5. Suddenly, they have won four of their last six games following an 0-3 start.
Stroud, who suffered a concussion the week prior, should have a chance to clear concussion protocol at some point this week. Next up for Houston is a road contest against the Tennessee Titans. If Stroud can’t go, it’ll be Mills under center for a second consecutive game.
