Indianapolis Colts, former Duke and Notre Dame QB Riley Leonard announces engagement

Riley Leonard has had a big last year of his life on the field. That’ll now continue off of it with the personal announcement he shared on Wednesday.
Leonard revealed on Instagram that he is now engaged to Molly Walding, his long-time girlfriend and now fiancée. That’s after getting down on one knee while the two were on vacation in Italy.
“Diamonds make pressure,” Leonard captioned the post on social media.
“I love you Riley Leonard!!!!!” Walding wrote on her own post. “If you told me at age 13 I wouldn’t believe you! The greatest day of my life!!!!”
This relationship goes back several years now to when the two were just teenagers in Fairhope, Alabama. It has now continued over the past several years as he has gone on to become a big-time college quarterback and, as of two and a half months ago, now a professional one.
Leonard just finished a collegiate career spent with Duke and Notre Dame. He made 43 collegiate appearances where he posted 63.7% completion for 7,311 yards, at 170 yards per game, with 45 passing touchdowns and 18 interceptions. He also rushed for 2,130 yards, at 49.5 per game and 5.2 a carry, and 36 more scores as one of the better dual-threat quarterbacks while in college since 2021.

For all he did with the Blue Devils in Durham, Leonard will most be remembered for his final season, which he spent after transferring, with the Fighting Irish in South Bend. That’s with him having a career-best season at 66.7% completion for 2,861 yards, 21 touchdowns, and eight picks in passing while rushing for 906 yards and 17 scores, bringing him to a total of 3,767 yards in total, averaging 235.4 yards per game, and 38 touchdowns combined. That would help to lead Notre Dame to a record of 14-2, going on to finish as the season’s runner-up after playing for the national title in the College Football Playoff.
With that, Leonard came out as one of the better quarterbacks as part of the 2025 NFL Draft. He would go on to be a day-three selection, as a third-round pick at No. 189 overall, by the Indianapolis Colts.
Again, this has been a big past few months in the life of Leonard. Another big year is now coming up as he’ll play his rookie season in the NFL before The Leonards eventually say, “I do.”
