CFP Bracket AFI

Week 12 saw seven teams lose that were in last week’s edition of the CFP Top-25, including a pair from the SEC who were in the Top-10. Because of that, the national title odds have shifted again going into this week as to who could win the College Football Playoff.

BetMGM has already updated their odds for who could win the national championship this season in the CFP. The three previous favorites remained the sam, albeit with different lines, but there were notable changes in and out of the top-five and top-ten. Only one, two, or three games left for everyone then further shifed the odds based on who’s expected to even be in the eventual field come December 7th.

Here were those updated title odds by those over at BetMGM:

1. Ohio State Buckeyes (+185)

Ohio State (10-0) remained the favorite this week to win the national title, being a repeat for them in Columbus. The Buckeyes also extended their lead as that favorite at BetMGM, going from (+200) to (+185) to win the CFP.

That’s coming off another blowout victory for them at 48-10 over UCLA at The ‘Shoe on Saturday night. And, at this point, The Game looks to be the only thing left to be standing in their way, as the Buckeyes looked primed to be a favorite both in the Big Ten Championship and the College Football Playoff.

2. Indiana Hoosiers (+500)

Indiana (11-0) also remained in second among the favorites to win the national championship in the playoff. IU improved their line as well, going from (+600) after Week 11 to now being at (+500) after Week 12.

The Hoosiers posted another blowout as well, as they pitched a shutout in the second half to win at 31-7 over Wisconsin. Now, still undefeated with one game left, Indiana is very likely to be in the Big Ten Championship and, from there, have a chance to win it all in the College Football Playoff.

3. Texas A&M Aggies (+700)

Texas A&M (10-0) was very nearly another team from the Southeastern Conference to see their odds worsen over at BetMGM. However, with an all-time comeback effort on Saturday, the Aggies remained undefeated, and in third with the same odds that they had from a week ago.

A&M also pitched a second-half shutout to come back from a 27-point deficit and win at 31-30 in regulation over South Carolina. That, with just one notable game left, and what else happened elsewhere in the conference, has the Aggies lined up to be in the SEC Championship, and still as the favorite from the league to win the CFP.

4. Georgia Bulldogs (+1000)

Georgia (9-1) again posted one of their best games of the season on Saturday night with a win between the hedges at 35-10 over Texas. That broke a tie for the Bulldogs from last week at BetMGM, as they, now at (+1000), stand alone in fourth in the odds to win the CFP.

After just surviving earlier this season, Georgia is seemingly thriving now with two wins of twenty-plus points in conference play. That has them only trending upward, with just a few weeks to go before the field is selected, both in the SEC and in contention for the College Football Playoff.

5. Notre Dame Fighting Irish (+1100)

Notre Dame (8-2) is the team that was tied a week ago with UGA at (+1000). However, despite a blowout win this weekend, the Irish, while remaining in the top-five overall, saw their odds worsen down to (+1100).

A 37-15 win at Pittsburgh on Saturday afternoon may have ensured that they’re going to at least be in the field, with it very likely now for them to get to the necessary record of 10-2 overall. But, the odds went down regardless for the Fighting Irish.

6. Texas Tech Red Raiders (+1400)

Texas Tech (10-1) continued to run rampant this weekend in the Big 12. They posted yet another blowout in conference play with a 48-9 win over UCF in Lubbock.

With a bye to prepare now for their finale in Morgantown, the Red Raiders are very likely to be in Arlington with a great chance to win the Big 12 Championship. And, while other teams have slipped somewhat so far in November, Texas Tech remains one of the more consistent teams of the season, with them now having the sixth-best odds to win it all at BetMGM.

7. Alabama Crimson Tide (+1500)

As far as these odds go, Alabama (8-2) suffered the most notable loss of the weekend. That’s as a new team entered the top-ten, while the Tide fell from fourth at (+800) to seventh at (+1500) as their odds were cut in half by BetMGM.

Alabama lost 23-21 to OU at home in Tuscaloosa, which gave them their second defeat of the season and a first loss in conference play that no longer has them fully ahead to be in the SEC Championship. So, until further notice, especially with the Iron Bowl ahead in two weeks, ‘Bama is no longer in the top-five as for the national title odds for the CFP.

8. Oregon Ducks (+1500)

Oregon (9-1) maintained their standing at (+1500) from BetMGM coming out of Week 12. That’s after a blowout win at 42-13 over Minnesota in Eugene on Friday night.

The Ducks are still not yet fully certain to be in the College Football Playoff, even with one loss as they have games left against USC and Washington. But, if they can win at least one or both, these odds should be set to improve once Oregon is in the CFP.

9. Ole Miss Rebels (+2000)

At this point, it’d be interesting to see what the odds would be of who would be the coach of Ole Miss (10-1) once they take the field for the CFP. But, as for their odds to actually win it, the Rebels have the ninth-best odds now at (+2000) per BetMGM.

Ole Miss is very likely to be in the bracket at this point after the 34-24 win over Florida on Saturday night. It’s now, with one game left and a record that’d be no worse than 10-2, or 10-3 if they were to make the SEC Championship, more so about what their seeding, and, at this point, who’d be on the sidelines for the Rebels.

10. Oklahoma Sooners (+2500)

Coming off back-to-back ranked road wins in conference play in Knoxville and Tuscaloosa, Oklahoma (8-2) is back in contention for the College Football Playoff. BetMGM reflects that as well, as the Sooners went from outside the top-ten at (+6000) even after Week 11 to cutting their odds in half to being (+2500) after Week 12.

With the two-point road win over ‘Bama, Oklahoma should, with two games left, likely be projected in the field for the CFP. That then now has them among the most likely to win the national title over at BetMGM.

11. USC Trojans (+6600)
12. Miami Hurricanes (+8000)
13. Utah Utes (+8000)
14. Vanderbilt Commodores (+10000)
15. Michigan Wolverines (+12500)
16. Texas Longhorns (+20000)
17. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (+30000)
