National Title Odds: Ranking Top 25 betting favorites after Week 4 of college basketball
Four weeks into the 2025-26 college basketball season, marquee programs such as Michigan, Duke, Arizona, and Iowa State have begun positioning themselves as major National Championship contenders.
Although these programs are some of the favorites, sleeper programs such as UConn, Gonzaga, Houston, and Purdue could also certainly make a run at a title. This early in the season however, it really is anybody’s guess who will be hoisting that trophy in Indianapolis in March.
The latest National Championship odds are below, courtesy of BetMGM.
1. Michigan Wolverines (+575)
Fresh into Dusty May‘s second season as the head coach at Michigan, the Wolverines ran into a few roadblocks. They held off Wake Forest 85-84 in OT of their second game of the season before escaping a potential TCU loss with a four-point victory. Since that handful of opening games however, Michigan has been on a demolition path across the sport of college basketball.
Their last four games have all been decided by at least 30 points. This includes dominant ranked victories over No. 21 ranked Auburn (102-72) and No. 12 ranked Gonzaga (101-61) in the Players Era Festival, which shot them up to No. 2 in the AP Poll Rankings. The Wolverines are seeking back-to-back Big Ten titles and their first National Championship since 1989.
2. Duke Blue Devils (+900)

Year four of the Jon Scheyer era at Duke is off to a phenomenal start, as the Blue Devils boast an unblemished 10-0 record. Four of these 10 wins have come against ranked opponents, including three in a row. This impressive stretch of play kicked off with an 80-71 win over No. 22 Arkansas on Thanksgiving. They then held off No. 15 ranked Florida 67-66 in the ACC/SEC Challenge before going to East Lansing and handing No. 7 Michigan State its first loss of the season (66-60).
Its early-season success has been heavily aided by the play of freshman superstar forward Cameron Boozer, who is the early favorite to win the Naismith Player of the Year Award. He would be the second consecutive Duke freshman to receive the honor (Cooper Flagg). Through 10 games, Boozer is averaging 23 points and 9.9 rebounds, 0.1 away from a double-double.
T3. Arizona Wildcats (+1000)
Through four weeks of the college basketball season, Arizona might boast the best resume in the entire sport. The Wildcats kicked off their season with a 93-87 victory over No. 3 Florida before racking up wins over No. 15 UCLA and No. 3 UConn over the next two weeks. They nabbed their fourth ranked victory of the season on Saturday by running No. 20 Auburn off the court by a score of 97-68.
Arizona faces just one more major non-conference test against No. 12 Alabama on Saturday before venturing into Big 12 play. With five ranked victories already stored away, Tommy Lloyd‘s team would be well on their way towards earning a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats are seeking their first NCAA Championship since 1997.
T3. Purdue Boilermakers (+1000)
Purdue was off to an unblemished 8-0 start to its season before running into the Iowa State cyclone on Saturday. On its own home floor, the Boilermakers were dominated 81-58 after trailing by just four points at halftime. Prior to that game however, Purdue racked up wins against No. 8 Alabama, Memphis, and No. 15 Texas Tech in non-conference play.
The Big Ten should once again be one of the best conferences in the country again this season, featuring big hitters in Purdue, Michigan, Michigan State, and Illinois, just to name a few. Purdue has won two Big Ten titles under head coach Matt Painter (2009 and 2023) and is looking to add No. 3 to its trophy case this season.
5. UConn Huskies (+1100)

UConn, winners of two of the last three National Championships, is off to an 8-1 start to the season and is once again one of the biggest contenders to run the table in March. Other than suffering an early-season 71-67 loss to No. 4 Arizona, the Huskies have secured victories over No. 7 BYU, No. 13 Illinois, and No. 21 (Darryn Peterson-less) Kansas.
As long as Dan Hurley is coaching your team however, there is always room for improvement. UConn will face two more SEC foes (No. 18 Florida and Texas) before opening Big East play against Butler on Dec. 16. The Huskies are seeking a return atop the conference after falling to Creighton in the Semifinals of the Big East Tournament last season.
T6. Gonzaga Bulldogs (+1200)
If not for one off night against Michigan in the Players Era Festival, Gonzaga’s odds to win its first National Championship in program history would likely be higher. Although it was smoked by Michigan 101-61 in the Players Era Festival Championship, the Bulldogs have recorded strong victories over Oklahoma, No. 23 Creighton, Arizona State, No. 8 Alabama, Maryland, and No. 18 Kentucky in non-conference play.
Their victory over Kentucky in Nashville came by a score of 94-59, signifying one of the biggest margins of defeat in the history of Kentucky Basketball (shot clock era). By downing the ‘Cats by 35 points, Gonzaga became the first team to ever lose a ranked game by 30-plus points and immediately turn around and beat another ranked opponent by 30-plus points.
T6. Houston Cougars (+1200)
Kelvin Sampson once again has his Houston Cougars playing at a National Championship level fresh off a loss to Florida in the Championship Game last season. Houston sits at 8-1 with its lone loss coming to No. 17 Tennessee in the Players Era Festival. With Big 12 play on the horizon, Houston already boasts wins over No. 22 Auburn, a much-improved Syracuse team, and Notre Dame.
Before delving into Big 12 play however, the Cougars will match up against No. 17 Arkansas. This game will showcase phenomenal guard play, as Houston has three guards averaging double-digits (Emanuel Sharp, Kingston Flemings, and Milos Uzan).

T6. Iowa State Cyclones (+1200)

At +1200, Iowa State might just be one of the best values in all of college basketball. Under head coach T.J. Otzelberger, the Cyclones are off to a dominant start to the season. This includes wins over No. 14 St. John’s, Creighton, Syracuse, and No. 1 Purdue. The win over the Boilermakers was dominant, as they ran them off their own court by a score of 81-58.
Forward Milan Momcilovic is playing at an All-American level, averaging 18.3 points on 54.2% shooting. Momcilovic, along with the rest of the Cyclones, are seeking the program’s first Final Four appearance since 1944. By dominating Purdue on its own home floor, it certainly showed that it is more than capable of doing so.
9. Florida Gators (+2200)
Although it’s been a rocky start to the season for Florida, the Gators have the ninth best odds to win a second consecutive National Championship. Subbing in transfer guards Xaivian Lee (Princeton) and Boogie Fland (Arkansas) for Walter Clayton Jr. and Will Richard has not quite been the cleanest transition, as they are just 5-3 through eight games. All five wins have come against unranked opponents, while two of three losses have come to ranked teams (No. 13 Arizona and No. 4 Duke).
Alas, it is certainly a long season. Head coach Todd Golden has shown that he is more than capable of leading a program to a National Championship, so they have earned that respect on multiple fronts. They will face off against No. 9 UConn Tuesday night, looking to poach their first ranked victory of the season.
T10. BYU Cougars (+2500)
Finally, BYU rounds out the top-10 at +2500. Led by superstar freshman A.J. Dybantsa, the Cougars are 7-1 with their lone loss coming to No. 3 UConn 86-84 back in mid-November. Although its schedule hasn’t been the hardest, they’ve dominated No. 23 Wisconsin (98-70) and Miami (72-62). With a boatload of NIL and strong coaching from Kevin Young, BYU is seeking its first ever trip to the Final Four.
It still has a matchup against Clemson on the docket before opening Big 12 play Jan. 3 against Kansas State. BYU, in its third season as a member of the Big 12 conference, is also seeking its first ever Big 12 title.
