How to watch Ohio at No. 1 Ohio State
Time: 7 p.m. ET
Channel: Peacock
Location: Columbus, OH
Ohio State has distanced itself far and away as the best team in the country through the first two weeks of the college football season. Through eight quarters of football, the Buckeyes defense has allowed just seven points and 26 total first downs. They’ve outscored Texas and Grambling 94-7 and look well on their way to making yet another appearance in the College Football Playoff this season.
After a lukewarm performance against the Longhorns, quarterback Julian Sayin looked mightily impressive in his second career start. Sayin completed 18/19 passes for four touchdowns and just one interception in the dominant 70-0 win. The Buckeyes also pounded the rock as well, as they totaled 284 rushing yards (with four 40-plus yard rushers) in their second game.

“We wanted to, like we talked about, be more explosive so I was playing with tempo,” Day said after the win. “That was good. The issues are always gonna be there, but it’s just an issue of identifying what they are.”
Ohio nearly opened season with two wins over power-four teams
At first glance Ohio doesn’t seem like it could be much of a nuisance for the Buckeyes, but it nearly opened the season with two wins over power-four competition. The Bobcats were tied with Rutgers heading into the fourth quarter two weeks ago and fell by three, and then poured in 14 points in a dominant second quarter last Saturday to hold off the Mountaineers 17-10.
Quarterback Parker Navarro has emerged as one of the biggest threats in the entire Group of Five, as he’s completed 43/62 passes for 486 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions through two games. The Bobcats love to sling the ball and Navarro could certainly make himself nationally known with a monster performance against Ohio State on Saturday.
Ohio State has not dropped a home game to a non-conference opponent since Sept. 11, 2021 (35-28 loss to then Pac-12 Oregon).
