Scott Hanson gives update on his role in 'Madden NFL 26'

Scott Hanson is known for his work on NFL Redzone, and that has led to him being a part of Madden NFL 26. On3 spoke to Hanson ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay and asked him how he landed a role in the video game by EA Sports.

“They reached out to my reps, I believe,” Hanson told On3. “People have told me, I’m not saying this, but people have told me I’m the soundtrack for their Sundays. Quote-unquote. For them, I’m the voice of football. They’ve told me this. I’m not saying this, you understand, but fans have told me this.”

Scott Hanson then gave an update on his role in Madden NFL 26. “Madden is the definitive sports video game, certainly the definitive football video game,” he said. “It seemed to be a natural fit to take the greatest football video game of all time and me being the voice of people’s NFL Sundays, or what they say, the voice of people’s Sundays and put it together.

“I hope that video game fans enjoy the work that we’re doing right now in the studio. I’m already recording right now to come out in the game. I can’t give you more than that, though, because they haven’t put out the whole thing yet, but it will be fun. If you would’ve told 20-year-old Scott Hanson back in my college apartment when I was playing Madden, that I would be in Madden as one of the announcers, I would’ve passed out from excitement.”

We’ll find out more about Hanson’s role as an announcer once we get closer to the release date (Aug. 14). For Madden NFL 25, there were two new broadcast teams added with Brandon Gaudin and Charles Davis (Greg Olsen and Mike Tirico; Brock Huard and Kate Scott). Based on what Hanson does in NFL Redzone, it’s possible he could be an in-game host for Madden NFL 26 if that is added into the game.

Madden NFL 26 will be available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. It will be released a little over one month after EA Sports College Football 26.
