An exciting SEC showdown is on the docket for Week 9. The Texas Longhorns will be on the road in Starkville to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

According to BetMGM Sportsbook, Texas is a 6.5-point favorite over Mississippi State. Additionally, the over-under for the game has been set at 45.5 points.

Last season, Texas welcomed Mississippi State to DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin. The Longhorns sent them packing with a 22-point loss, as Arch Manning passed for 325 yards and two touchdowns.

The good times were rolling, as Texas advanced to 5-0 at the time. There’s a different feel to this year’s matchup though, as it should be a bit more competitive due to the improvement the Bulldogs have made since then.

Alas, these two programs have only played five times — Texas leads the all time series 3-2. Last season’s game was their first meeting this century, so we’ll see what they have in store for an encore in Week 9.
