Vanderbilt at Alabama odds: Opening point spread updated, How to Watch

Last year, Vanderbilt handed Alabama one of the more stunning losses of the season. They’ll meet again in Week 6, and the early point spread has been updated.
Alabama opened as a 12.5-point favorite over Vanderbilt at Bryant-Denny Stadium, according to BetMGM. The over-under also opened at 55.5 points.
The Crimson Tide will look to avenge last year’s loss, which came after the program’s biggest win under Kalen DeBoer when they took down Georgia in a thriller. This year, the game once again takes place after Alabama’s matchup with UGA.

Diego Pavia led the charge for Vanderbilt in last year’s upset win at FirstBank Stadium. He not only threw for 252 yards and two touchdowns, but also took 20 carries for 56 yards – second on the team only to Sedrick Alexander’s 21 carries for 64 yards and two touchdowns.
After securing an injunction to gain another year of eligibility, Pavia looked toward the Alabama game hoping for a repeat performance. Speaking on Bussin’ with the Boys in June, he made it clear that’s the goal, and an attainable one.
“For sure. I have no doubt we have the guys to go do it,” Pavia said. “We have the firepower, we have the depth. We have the defense, the offense. Like, we would be selling ourselves short if I was to sit here and tell you we don’t have the faith go and win the national championship.”
However, Alabama is also looking to get payback. During the offseason, Ryan Williams shared his message to his teammates about the game. While he stopped short of calling it a “revenge game,” his confidence was clear about how things would go in 2025.

“Going into this game, we don’t call them revenge games, we’re going to kill an ant with a sledgehammer this year,” Williams said. “Every game we fell short last year, we definitely got red eyes going into them (this year).”
