Vanderbilt at Texas odds: Opening point spread revealed, How to Watch
On Saturday, Texas will host Vanderbilt inside DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium. It’ll only be the 13th meeting ever between the two programs.
History will be on Vanderbilt’s side in the showdown. The Commodores boast an 8-4-1 all-time record against Texas, but it’s worth noting all of their wins occurred before 1928. The Longhorns won 27-24 when the two teams met last season.
According to BetMGM, Texas is a 2.5-point favorite over Vanderbilt. Additionally, the over/under for the game is set at 45.5 points.

There are few, if any, college quarterbacks more popular than Texas’ Arch Manning. However, Vanderbilt’s Diego Pavia certainly is in the conversation.
The always-entertaining Pavia has been spectacular this season, and he hasn’t shied away from the spotlight. In Vanderbilt’s 27-24 loss to Texas last season, Pavia completed 16-of-his-29 pass attempts for 143 yards and two touchdowns, while throwing two interceptions.
Pavia also recorded 67 yards and a score in the ground game against the Longhorns. The veteran QB will be looking to have an improved performance this time around, and there will be plenty of eyes watching.
Pavia is a serious contender for the Heisman Trophy this season. Last week, ESPN’s Andre Ware raved about Pavia.

“All he does is create magic,” Ware said. “This guy is just fun to watch play the game. Every single weekend, I’m watching or looking for what Diego Pavia has done. He reminds me of Doug Flutie with the magic that he creates and the playmaking ability. He is special.”
Vanderbilt and Texas will square off at 11 a.m. CT on Saturday. The game will air live on the SEC Network.
