Aubrey Cole

My name is Aubrey Cole, and I am a Class of 2028 student-athlete at the Landon School in Bethesda, Maryland. I am a 6'1", 195-pound varsity linebacker who takes pride in playing fast, physical football and making plays from sideline to sideline. I became a varsity starter as a sophomore, playing a hybrid linebacker role in Landon's multiple 3-3-5 defense. That role gave me the opportunity to play both in the box and in space, where I was asked to pursue from different levels of the defense, cover, fit the run, and use my speed and athleticism across the field. This season, our defense transitioned to a 4-2-5, and I moved to MIKE linebacker. The change has challenged me to expand my game by taking on more responsibility inside the box - reading offensive line movement, fitting gaps, defeating blocks, communicating the defense, and making plays through traffic - while continuing to use the range and pursuit ability I developed playing in space. Playing these different roles has helped me become a more complete and versatile defender. I don't see myself as limited to one linebacker position. I want to be a player who can play inside the box, run sideline to sideline, cover in space, communicate the defense, and give a defensive coordinator the flexibility to use me in multiple ways. My goal is to continue developing my strength, explosiveness, tackling, block destruction, coverage ability, and understanding of the game while competing against the best competition possible. I am looking for a college program that will challenge me academically and athletically, develop me as both a player and a young man, and give me the opportunity to earn everything I receive. I value coaching, accountability, preparation, hard work, and being part of a team committed to winning. I understand that recruiting is about more than statistics or measurements, and I want coaches evaluating my film to see my effort, range, physicality, football IQ, versatility, and continued development.
