Personal Life

Breece Hall is on his way to etching his name among Iowa State greats. He came to Ames, Iowa, via Witchia, Kansas. He attended Wichita (Kan.) Northwest, where he was a consensus four-star recruit and earned All-State twice. His college career started well as he earned a spot on the All-Big 12 second team. Hall then had a legendary 2020 season for the Cyclones as he became the first player in school history to be a unanimous All-American. He also won Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and finished second for the Doak Walker Award. He is the son of Larhonda McDaniel. His stepfather, Jeff Smith, played football at Nebraska where he scored two touchdowns in the 1984 Orange Bowl. Smith also played four seasons in the NFL. Hall is majoring in communication studies at Iowa State.
