Rising senior two-way starter at safety and receiver. With a sturdy 6'2, 185 frame, he has options to play both sides of the ball. The team's QB health really affected his usage. His best wins on offense were due to scheme and deception (Play actions, Fake Screens, Wildcat Pop Passes), even if he consistently showed nice body control with speeds and deceleration in his downfield route running. He's a natural pass catcher who can silkily adjust to targets both offensively and defensively. Deployed defensively as both a deep safety and an end man on the line in a run support role. Good eyes reading QB from a deep perch. Made several interceptions as cover3 center fielder and cover4 weak side safety, trusting his keys. His play at WR/TE helps him understand angles to deny targets down the seam. Comfortable attacking the ball both in coverage and rallying to tackle. Needs to use his hands more to shed blocks. Needs to work on his pursuit agility and footwork. Tends to take good angles to ball carriers in the open field. Can lunge and use arms too much in tacking. Does a nice job of trying to hit the ball with his helmet on contact but doesn't drive his hips through to the ground. Yanks and pulls carriers down. Hips, in general, are a little stiff in terms of dipping, exploding, and changing direction ahead of burst movements. But there's a clear upside with his frame and ball skills.
