Personal Life

Jacob Lacey was an On3 Consensus four-star recruit coming out of Bowling Green (Kentucky) South Warren High School in the 2019 cycle. He originally signed with Notre Dame over offers from Michigan, Clemson, Penn State, Tennessee and others. At Notre Dame, he appeared in 11 games as a freshman, 11 games as a sophomore and 11 games as a junior. He started the 2022 season off with a career-best two sacks and five tackles against Cal. But in October, Lacey announced he was entering the Transfer Portal with two years of eligibility remaining. Regardless of the move, he earned high praise from Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman. “Lacey was a great player,” Freeman said. “Lacey did a lot of great things for us. But it’s a deep position. He made a decision that ultimately he felt was best for him, and we respect it. We love Jacob.”
