Jaleel Skinner began his high school career at Greer (S.C.) High before transferring to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. At Greer, he was a three-sport star. Along with racking up double-digit scholarship offers in football, he was selected all-state by the South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association for his play in the 2021 season. He also excelled in track, running the 100-meter dash and performing in the high jump and long lump. Skinner plans on majoring in sports management. His parents are Tedric Lewis and Tina Skinner. His siblings are Jalasia and Jashyra Lewis.

A high ceiling-low floor prospect with immense physical traits. The most athletic tight end prospect in the 2022 cycle, perhaps by a significant margin with unique dimensions and considerable twitch. Sports a near 7-foot wing-span and sub-4.6 speed. Has the physical ability to be a significant mismatch in the passing game with his straight-line speed and potentially large catch radius. Raw technically and needs to continue adding polish to his game as a pass-catcher and route-runner. Not a pure ball-winner but has shown flashes of high-point ability in games and 7-on-7 settings. Also has some underrated explosive power and core strength. Was a late transfer to IMG Academy as a senior and working into the offense at receiver. Shows his physical traits on the basketball court where he delivered some thunderous dunks and emphatic blocks as a junior.

Jaleel Skinner Scouting Summary

Jaleel Skinner is among the biggest athletic freaks in the cycle. He combines 4.5 speed with power (315-pound power clean) and elite length (6-foot-11 wingspan). He’s long been an intriguing athlete given his measurables but we’ve seen him start to flip the switch over the last 12 months.

Jaleel Skinner rated as a five-star in initial On300

Jaleel Skinner is perhaps the most athletic tight end prospect in the 2022 cycle and continued to show his physical gifts while working out at Clemson. The 6-foot-4.5, 220-pounder has a lean build with exceptional length. Skinner was at the front of the line in a deep tight end group and worked closely with Tigers’ offensive coordinator Tony Elliott. The Greer, S.C. product was twitchy and fluid in his movements, seamlessly accelerating and gearing down within route drills. Skinner is not dominant at the catch point at this stage, but we thought he caught the ball well on the day. His highlight catch came on an adjustment to a low throw while moving full speed on a slant route. Skinner continues to look like he has one of the higher athletic ceilings of pass catchers in the 2022 cycle.
