2022 Draft · Rnd 1 · Pick 6Like Ikem Ekwonu, Jven Williams is a high upside offensive lineman with length and strong athletic markers who excel as run blockers. Both have the length and athleticism to play either offensive tackle or guard. The size as recruits is nearly identical at around 6-foot-4, 290 pounds. Both have dominant qualities as run blockers, particularly at the second level. Ekwonu was a touted wrestler and track athlete, while Williams is a multi-time state champion in the shot put and discus as one of the top throwers on the East Coast.

Jven Williams is coached in high school by Bob Wolfrum, who is known throughout the country as the “Wizard of the Wing T.” Wolfrum has been coaching for 50 years in the high school ranks and says Williams is among the best he’s ever seen. “Some guys just don't have the height or the width,” Wolfrum told the Reading Eagle. “They could be great players but never get a chance. But he has that. He can run, he'll hit you so he's going to get a chance. He's a starting tackle for us but we move him to guard. He's smart enough to learn both positions and he can run like a Wing-T guard.” Away from football, Williams says his hobby is playing video games, and his favorite food are burritos.
