San Juan Capistrano (Calif.) San Juan Hills three-star interior offensive lineman Cooper Javorsky has decommitted from UCLA, he tells Rivals’ Adam Gorney.

He was pledged to the Bruins since June 12 but is now back on the board following the firing of head coach DeShaun Foster on Sunday afternoon. Javorsky is the seventh decommitment of the day for the Big Ten program.

“Unfortunately with how uncertain things are, I am not able to take a risk on who is going to still be there,” Javorsky told Gorney. “A major reason I committed was because of coach (Andy) Kwon and the idea he may not be there really worries me. I love the program and I will continue to hope for their success but unfortunately after talking with my parents, we feel it is right to open back up my recruiting.”

The 6-foot-4, 295-pounder is the No. 691 overall prospect and No. 65 IOL in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 54 player in California.

Javorsky chose the in-state Bruins over offers from Auburn, UNLV, Oregon State, Hawaii and others. He committed a week after logging his official visit to Westwood, continuing what was a successful run of recruiting wins for Foster and his staff.

Unfortunately, an 0-3 start for UCLA this fall led to Foster’s departure on Sunday. The second-year head coach saw his team lose to Utah, UNLV and then New Mexico on Friday night. Now, the Bruins’ 2026 class is dwindling.

The pledge list is now down to 16 commits after beginning the day with 22. It entered this week at No. 23 nationally in the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings but is now outside the top 40.

Javorksy’s decision follows four-star offensive tackle Johnnie Jones, three-star defensive lineman Anthony Jones, three-star EDGE Yahya Gaad, three-star DL David Schwerzel and three-star linebacker Ramzak Fruean. UCLA’s 2027 class also lost a commitment from three-star wide receiver Demaje Riley.

Rivals’ Adam Gorney has more recruit reactions on the firing of Foster. The remaining UCLA recruiting class can be seen here.

UCLA fires DeShaun Foster

Foster finished his time at UCLA with a 5-10 record, going 5-7 in 2024. The Bruins started 1-5 but rallied down the stretch, signaling good things to come. However, it was not be for Foster at his alma mater.

“Yeah, it’s pretty low right now,” Foster said after UCLA’s loss to the Lobos this weekend. “Like you said, I’ve been around this program for a long time. It’s just unfortunate what’s going on at this moment. We’re just not executing.”

Foster was even asked after the latest loss if he was still the right guy to be able to lead UCLA. The administration thought otherwise.

“Most definitely,” Foster said Saturday night. “(Why?) Because I can get these boys to play … “If you’re a real Bruin, you’ll still be a fan. There are plenty of programs that have had unfortunate starts who have turned stuff around. You’re either going to stick with it or not.”
