2026 TE Arley Morrell released from signing with Iowa State
Arley Morrell has been released from his letter of intent by Iowa State.
The senior riser at tight end flipped to Iowa State from Colorado State late in the recruiting process. At the time he was thrilled to join the class.
“Last year, Iowa State was the second place I went on a game day visit to,” said Morrell, who has emerged as the staff’s primary target to take the second and final open tight end scholarship in the 2026 class. “I hadn’t heard a ton from them after that, until about a month ago. They have been contacting me and been in touch.
“They enjoy how physical my blocking has become, and how good my vision has gotten when playing any position, whether that’s returner, running back, wide receiver, tight end, and defensive end. I have improved at all positions with my physicality and understanding of the game. I have been dominant all season long.”
But now with coach Matt Campbell off to Penn State he’s the latest player to be released from his letter of intent.

“I haven’t heard from any schools yet,” Morrell told me for Rivals. “Hopefully going to hear from Penn State and Kansas State.”
Morrell tallied 36 receptions for 504 yards and seven touchdowns from the tight end position, while adding 46 carries for another 206 on the ground.
