2027 ATH Braylon Williams talks first cut

Arlington (Texas) Lamar 2027 athlete Braylon Williams is ready to announce his first list of top schools. The 6-foot-1, 201-pound sophomore is pushing 20 offers and 10 schools have emerged as early favorites.
“Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon, SMU, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, Utah and Wisconsin are my top schools,” Williams told On3.
The offers started during his freshman season. Nebraska was the first to pull the trigger. Williams has added many more since. He has taken some visits too. Out of the schools on his list, Williams has taken in games at Ohio State, SMU, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M this season.
Williams is in no rush. He will take his time with the recruiting process as he works to make a decision in the summer before his senior season.
“I am going to enjoy the process and things step by step. These schools have done a good job with relationships and that is big for me. I will stay in contact with schools, continue to take visits and take my time with things now.”

Williams talks SMU, Texas and Texas A&M
SMU: “It is like 30 minutes down the road, so I have already visited SMU between 5-7 times. I really like the staff. Coach (Maurice) Crum is a great coach and he has been recruiting me since I was a freshman. He saw potential in me early and we have a good relationship. I like their facilities, they are coming up big right now this season and I can see the fit.”
Texas: “Texas was my dream school. I honestly never thought I would have the offer to play for Texas. I have been there 4-5 times and I love it there. It is a place I have always wanted to go. It is Texas. Everything is big there. The light show. How they come out. Everything is great at Texas.”
Texas A&M: “I just visited for the first time. I was there for the LSU game and it was great. The crowd was loud and I couldn’t hear anything. I loved the energy. Sitting down was weird because everyone was standing up the entire game. It was a great crowd, the coaches talked to me and I loved it.”
