Brysen Wright had the catch seen ‘round the world last weekend in the NFL Flag championships, a miraculous, one-handed grab that set social media on fire.

But the 2028 star receiver from Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin was not even certain, could not even believe, that he caught it.

“I’m not going to lie,” Wright said. “I didn’t believe I still had it at first. When I was on the ground, I was like, I definitely just caught that.

“I went up with one (hand) and I just came down.”

Wright’s viral reception really was pretty amazing.

His quarterback basically threw a long bomb to Wright, who came across the field, got shoulder thumped by one defender and then leaped over another defender to snatch the ball out of the air with only his right hand to then get flipped over and hold onto the football for the touchdown.

The ESPN commentator said the catch was “truly unbelievable.” That was almost the least of the praise.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes quote tweeted the video. So did ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter. The video from NFL.com has more than three million views. Schefter’s tweet has more than 45,000 likes.

Wright’s father, Colby, said they’ve heard from Odell Beckham, Jr., Caleb Williams, Torrey Smith, Dez Bryant and others.

“It’s crazy for sure,” Wright said. “Definitely just a lot of people posting. It’s been amazing. It’s just a blessing.”

Wright could be one of the top prospects in the 2028 class, this catch hardly his only highlight-reel play this offseason, but definitely his best.

The Jacksonville Mandarin standout who had 31 receptions and eight touchdowns and averaged nearly 21 yards per catch in his freshman season had another unreal one-handed grab at OT7.

At this NFL Flag tournament, Wright high-pointed the ball for an interception seconds after doing a 360-degree spin in the air kidding around before the ball was snapped.

Top programs from across the country have offered him as Wright has dozens of offers before his sophomore season even starts.

His father earned his Master’s degree from Florida State and the 2028 receiver has called it his dream school in previous interviews but says the Seminoles have been slow in recruiting him so far.

“The only (main) schools I’m hearing from now really are Ohio State, Florida and Miami,” Wright said.

Ohio State is an interesting one as there was another former star receiver from the state of Florida who went to play for the Buckeyes.

Someone so dominant at the high school level and so good during his freshman season in Columbus that some felt he would’ve been the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft if he could’ve come out in April.

Is Wright lining up to be the next Jeremiah Smith?

“I just want to be myself,” Wright said.

With his catch at the NFL Flag event and his performances elsewhere, that’s good enough.
