Arizona State scoops up commitment from 2026 S Davis Kinney
Arizona State loves to make a splash on National Signing Day.
The Sun Devils did it again — securing a commitment from touted 2026 safety Davis Kinney out of the state of Texas on Wednesday.
Kinney, a one-time Northwestern verbal, backed off his Big Ten pledge shortly after logging an official visit to Tempe this fall.
He’s been leaning toward the Sun Devils ever since.
“After I decommitted from Northwestern, the Arizona State staff stepped up immediately,” Kinney told Rivals. “They were one of the first to offer me when my recruitment started, and they kept consistent communication the whole time. Their belief in me separated them from everyone else.”
Lead recruiter Bryan Carrington was a catalyst in Kinney’s recruitment. So was Arizona State head coach Kenny Dillingham.

“Coach BC, Coach Lee and Coach Dillingham played the biggest roles. They were consistent, genuine, and showed real belief in me, which made them stand out,” he detailed. “The campus and people made it feel natural right away. The staff treated me like a priority and supported me as both a player and a person, which made it feel like home.”
After the official visit, Kinney’s mind was already made up.
“Their scheme fits my strengths, and they laid out a clear plan for how they want to develop me,” he said. “I see a real path for growth, competition, and reaching the next level here.”
He becomes the ninth Texas-based recruit to join the Sun Devils’ 2026 class.
Kinney is the Industry Ranking No. 61 safety in the 2026 class and the No. 97 overall prospect in the Lone Star State.
