Auburn, Alex Golesh add commitment from former USF TE pledge Damarcus Broughton
Semmes (Ala.) Mary G. Montgomery three-star tight end Damarcus Broughton is following Alex Golesh to Auburn.
The former USF commit re-opened his recruitment on Sunday after it was announced that Golesh was leaving Tampa. Just one day later, he’s now the first commitment for the new head man on The Plains.
Broughton is the No. 84 tight end and No. 51 recruit in Alabama in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He checks in as the No. 1,327 prospect overall.
The 6-foot-5, 220-pounder had already been on Auburn’s radar this fall. He visited The Plains in September and gives the Tigers a much-needed pledge on the trail. They’ve lost three commitments thus far on Monday, headlined by four-star safety Bralan Womack, who flipped to Mississippi State.

Broughton likely won’t be the only recruit to follow Golesh from USF to Auburn, either. According to the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine, the SEC program is also trending for Moody (Ala.) three-star wide receiver Josiah Dozier, who also decommitted from USF on Sunday. Dozier checks in as the No. 915 recruit and No. 132 WR this cycle.
Auburn is now back up to 11 commits with National Signing Day two days away. The in-flux class is now outside the top 60 in the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings, however.
