Springfield (Ohio) four-star cornerback <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/aaron-scott-jr-151968/">Aaron Scott Jr.</a> narrowed down to five schools at the beginning of June, and as the calendar turns to July, he is ready to take the next step in his process. 



He has eliminated Tennessee and Penn State from contention, and he will now focus on three schools: Oregon, Michigan and Ohio State. And one of those three schools will receive his commitment on July 30. 



That date is a special one, as it’s his father’s birthday. 



The 5-foot-11, 165-pounder visited all three programs in June — Oregon (June 9-11), Michigan (June 16-18) and Ohio State (June 23-25) — and came away with a strong feeling about each. 



The home-state Buckeyes have long been thought to be the favorite because of their proximity to home, but both the Ducks and Wolverines have very much stayed in this.

Michigan: “Their defensive scheme interests me. I love pressing man-to-man, making it harder for the receivers… I feel like their defensive scheme and the defensive coordinator (<a href="https://www.on3.com/db/coach/jesse-minter-133778/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Jesse Minter</a>), they’re doing something special. They have an NFL-type defense, so it will help prepare you for the next level when you get there.”



Ohio State: “They’re super close and I grew up watching them. They talk to me every day. When I get on the phone with Coach Day, he tells me whatever I need, he’s got me and we can make it happen whenever I’m ready.”



Oregon: “That was my dream school growing up. I liked to stay up late and watch their games. I feel like being able to go to a dream school is a dream come true. Why not go to your dream school?”

Scott is one of the most dynamic defensive playmakers in the 2024 class, according to On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power. 



He ranks as the nation’s No. 13 overall prospect and No. 2 cornerback in the <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/rankings/player/football/2024/">latest On300 rankings</a>. 



“Fluid corner prospect who is a master of staying in phase and contending at the catch point,” Power writes about him as a prospect. “Stands in at nearly 6-foot, 165 pounds with a 6-foot-5 wingspan. Ran an electronically-timed 4.67 40-yard dash and a 4.35 shuttle during the spring camp circuit prior to his junior season. Jumped a 5-foot-8 high jump during his sophomore track and field season. Does a phenomenal job of playing through receivers’ hands. Explosive hooper on the basketball court. Should fill out his frame with natural physical development. One of the younger prospects in the 2024 recruiting cycle.”
