Prosper (Texas) four-star offensive tackle Bryce Gilmore has decommitted from Arkansas, Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman and Steve Wiltfong have confirmed.

He had previously been committed to the Razorbacks since June 2, when he chose them over Ole Miss, Penn State, Arizona State and more than a dozen other offers.

In a statement released through his agent, Gilmore said: “After extensive discussions with his family and
management team, Bryce has made the very difficult decision to decommit from the University of Arkansas. This decision was not made lightly. Bryce remains deeply appreciative of the coaching staff, the program, and the Razorback fan base for their support throughout his recruitment process.”

The 6-foot-4, 270-pounder is the No. 172 overall prospect and No. 13 offensive tackle in the 2026 class, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, an equally weighted average that utilizes all three major recruiting services.

He took official visits with the Rebels, Razorbacks, Sun Devils and Vanderbilt before his decision, but other schools have remained in pursuit of him after his commitment. According to Wiltfong, Texas Tech has emerged as a team to watch for the in-state prospect.

Arkansas loses top commitment with Gilmore’s departure

With Gilmore now reopening his recruitment and exploring other schools, Sam Pittman and Co. have lost their top-rated commitment in the 2026 class. The Razorbacks still have three other blue-chippers committed and 26 players pledged in total.

But the loss of one of the nation’s premier offensive linemen — particularly for a coach like Pittman — will no doubt sting. The Razorbacks are off to a 2-0 start this season on the field with a massive showdown against Ole Miss coming up this weekend.

Gilmore is the fourth player to decommit from Arkansas in the 2026 cycle, joining three-stars Braylen Williams, Jack Duckworth and Bear McWhorter, all of whom backed off their pledges over the past year. Unfortunately for Pittman and his staff, the decommitments have been all too common in the past few years.

Between the 2024-26 cycles, 20 prospects who were at one time pledged to Arkansas have decommitted and gone to other schools.
