LOOK: USC QB commit Devin Brown on official visit to Ohio State

One day after losing in the Utah state championship game, Draper (Utah) Corner Canyon four-star quarterback Devin Brown made a trip east to Columbus, Ohio.

Brown, a USC commit, was at the Horseshoe on Saturday for Ohio State‘s top-10 matchup with Michigan State.

While on his visit, Brown talked with Buckeyes athletic director Gene Smith on the field during the game.

Brown is the No. 59 overall recruit in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the sixth-best quarterback in the class and as the No. 1 player in Utah.

Following Domani Jackson‘s decommitment, Devin Brown assumed the spot as USC’s top recruit in the 2022 class. The Trojans class ranks as the No. 19 class in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking.

Ohio State is in need of a quarterback following the reclassification of Quinn Ewers over the summer. The Buckeyes has tried to flip Penn State commit and On3 five-star prospect Drew Allar, but Allar has been firm in his commitment to the Nittany Lions.

Brown is in a different situation, having committed to a head coach in Clay Helton who was fired in September. Brown has gone on a few visits since Helton’s firing, including impressive visits to Ole Miss and Texas.

Devin Brown threw for 4 touchdowns Friday

Devin Brown played in his final high school game Friday in the Utah 6A state championship against Highland (Utah) Lone Peak. Brown had a top-tier performance, but it wasn’t enough as Highland Lone Peak ended Draper Corner Canyon’s three-year reign as state champs with a 49-42 victory.

The four-star quarterback had 380 passing yards and four touchdowns in the game. He also had 15 carries for 96 yards and a touchdown. However, he did throw an interception at the end of the game that sealed the victory for Highland Lone Peak.

Brown finished the season with 4809 passing yards and 56 passing touchdowns.
