4-star QB Marcel Reed decommits from Ole Miss

Nashville (Tenn.) Montgomery Bell Academy four-star quarterback Marcel Reed has decommitted from Ole Miss. He was previously pledged to the Rebels since April 25.
He will make a new decision at 8 pm ET.
“First I would like to thank God for the opportunity and gift given to me as an athlete, without him my recruitment would be nothing,” Reed said. “I want to thank Oxford, Mississippi for the love shown and the coaches at the University of Mississippi for recruiting me throughout this year. Last, a thanks to my family for helping me make such an important and tough decision in my life that will be with us forever. I will be de-committing from Ole Miss and will be announcing where I am going at 7pm Central time. Thank you to everyone who has been apart of this journey.”

Reed is the No. 318 overall prospect and No. 18 quarterback in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 7 player in Tennessee.
Reed has an On3 NIL Valuation of $66K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
