Prosper (Texas) four-star interior offensive lineman Sean Stover made an early commitment to Duke at the end of November last fall. Now over 10 months later, he remains sturdy with the Blue Devils.

On Monday evening, though, for the first time since committing, Stover announced a new offer. Michigan has thrown its hat in the ring for the 6-foot-3, 290-pounder. Vaunted Wolverines OL coach Grant Newsome extended the offer as the Big Ten program is obviously looking to add more beef to the trenches in the 2026 cycle.

Head coach Sherrone Moore and the U-M staff inked a big offensive line haul last cycle, which included a blue-chipper out of Texas. Denton Ryan four-star offensive tackle Ty Haywood was a one-time Alabama commit, but came back on the board and signed with the Wolverines. Haywood finished as the No. 48 overall prospect in the cycle and headlined the class alongside another elite tackle in five-star Andrew Babalola.

The Lone Star State has continued to treat U-M well this cycle, too. Four of the 22 commits in its 11th-ranked class — per the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings — hail from Texas: Mansfield four-star wide receiver Zion Robinson, Liberty Hill four-star defensive lineman Alister Vallejo, Frisco Lone Star four-star safety Jordan Deck and Dallas Parish Episcopal three-star WR Jaylen Pile.

Stover, meanwhile, continues to headline Duke’s 2026 class as the lone blue-chipper in the fold. The Blue Devils’ 18-man class ranks No. 46 overall, as of Sept. 30. Stover is one of three Texas-based commits in the mix for Manny Diaz and Co., alongside Houston St. Thomas three-star EDGE Obinna Umeh and Southlake Carroll kicker Gavin Strange.

Stover is the No. 333 overall prospect and No. 29 IOL in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 39 player in Texas.

Wolverines hunting flips this fall

With nearly all 400 blue-chip prospects in the 2026 cycle committed, programs are looking for flips down the stretch. Michigan is making its presence felt in multiple blue-chip recruitments.

Owings Mills (Md.) McDonogh School Rivals300 linebacker Nick Abrams committed to Georgia in July but the Wolverines have been in hot pursuit. He’s set to visit Ann Arbor this weekend for the Wisconsin game. Abrams updated his recruitment with Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong on Tuesday.

Englewood (Colo.) Cherry Creek four-star LB Braylon Hodge is another target. He’s been committed to rival Michigan State since June 1, but has seen his stock soar this fall and is now getting a look at other contenders, including U-M. He’s expected this weekend as well for an official visit.

Michigan just had Orlando First Academy four-star cornerback Danny Odem, a Nebraska commit, on campus. The Wolverines lost a pledge to Ole Miss from four-star CB Dorian Barney over the weekend and are now looking to add another DB to the fold.

Michigan’s current 2026 class, led by five-star running back Savion Hiter, can be seen here.
