Michigan signs Five-Star Plus+ EDGE Carter Meadows
Washington D.C. Gonzaga Five-Star Plus+ EDGE Carter Meadows has signed with Michigan.
Pledged to the Wolverines since June 29, the 6-foot-6.5, 235-pounder is officially headed to Ann Arbor as a headlining piece of Sherrone Moore’s recruiting class. Meadows has been rock-solid with the Big Ten program since coming off the board this summer.
He’s now the No. 6 overall prospect and No. 2 EDGE in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. Rivals has labeled Meadows a five-star since February.
South Carolina was in the mix, as was Ohio State and Penn State, but Michigan snatched the momentum in Meadows’ recruitment after he logged his final official visit to Ann Arbor on the weekend of June 20. One week later, he locked in his commitment.

“I think it was a mix of on the field, off the field things,” he told Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong about his commitment. “When I went up there for my OV the culture I could feel in the building was different and I want to be part of it … I think their history of winning and tradition and upholding their standard of excellences in all walks of life, on the field, off the field that’s what makes it special.”
This fall, there’s been zero buzz surrounding Meadows’ recruitment. He continued to re-affirm his pledge and has now put pen to paper, giving the U-M faithful quite a bit to be excited about. Meadows is an instant-impact star who could make his presence felt in 2026 for the Maize and Blue.
Meadows is one of two industry five-stars in Michigan’s class, flanking Savion Hiter, the No. 1 running back in the nation. The Wolverines have a top-15 class in the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
Carter Meadows Scouting Summary
Rivals’ Scouting and Rankings Team writes this of Meadows as a prospect:
“Rangy EDGE prospect with a rare combination of frame and movement skills. One of the most physically impressive prospects in the 2026 cycle. Measured in at around 6-foot-6, 225 pounds as a junior. Has vines for arms that measure around 35 inches to go with large hands. Could easily be a 280-pounder before it’s all said and done. Pairs the great frame with impressive functional athleticism A fluid, flexible athlete who has excellent bend. Has the natural tools to develop into a dangerous pass rusher down the line. Length pairs with good play strength to result in an effective edge setter. Also shows his athleticism in tracking down plays in pursuit. Doubles as a good high school basketball player while playing top competition on the hardwood. Will need to continue progressing as a pass rusher while upping his production. Pure physical upside is among the highest in the 2026 cycle.”
