New LSU commit Lamar Brown sends message to Ohio State commit Blaine Bradford: 'Come home'

Erwinville (La.) University Lab five-star athlete Lamar Brown strongly considered leaving Louisiana to play his college football, but LSU closed strong and landed a commitment from the two-way lineman on Thursday.
Now, Brown is ready to play the role of recruiter for the Tigers. The top name on his list? Baton Rouge (La.) Catholic five-star safety and current Ohio State commit Blaine Bradford.
“Come home,” Brown wrote Friday afternoon on X, tagging Bradford.
Bradford came off the board on March 31, choosing the Buckeyes in a surprise decision that caught most off guard. Ohio State was a contender for the defensive back, but hometown LSU was trending heavily in the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine at the time.
In the 2025 cycle, LSU signed Bradford’s older brother and four-star safety recruit Jacob Bradford. The Tigers often close strong with elite in-state recruits and they won’t let up on the younger Bradford until pen gets put to paper.
Brown is now in the fold as LSU’s third five-star commitment this cycle. He, five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys and five-star defensive lineman Richard Anderson would love to add Bradford to the fold as they push for the top spot in the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
“I just felt it,” Bradford told Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong about his decision to commit to Ohio State. “You get that gut feeling. I prayed about it. It’s something you never felt before. When you get that feeling you got to take it … I think I’m shut down.”
Bradford is the No. 30 overall prospect and No. 4 safety in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 3 player in Louisiana.
LSU has slew of elite in-state commits this cycle
Brown is the latest big-time in-state recruiting win for head coach Brian Kelly and the LSU staff. With the lineman now in the fold, LSU has commitments from six of the seven highest-ranked recruits in The Boot this cycle.

Brown is the No. 7 overall prospect and top-ranked athlete in the cycle. Anderson, who plays for Edna Karr, is the nation’s top listed D-lineman and is right behind Brown at No. 2 in the state. New Orleans Destrehan four-star wide receiver Jabari Mack and Edna Karr four-star safety Aiden Hall are both top-100 overall prospects and both are in the class, too.
Gonzales East Ascension four-star offensive tackle Brysten Martinez and Bossier City Airline four-star WR Kenny Darby are also in the mix as the state’s No. 6 and No. 7 prospects. Bradford is the top recruit in Louisiana that’s not a part of LSU’s 2026 class to date.
Staying home was a big reason in the end for Brown when he announced his decision on Thursday. He’ll now look to get Bradford to do the same.
“Being a kid from the area, not everyone has the opportunity to stay home and play for the home team,” Brown told Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman about his decision. “To have the chance to play for the home team, to be able to shine on Saturdays … it’s a dream and it means a lot for any Louisiana kid.”
Bradford is one of two five-stars in Ohio State’s 2026 class, alongside WR Chris Henry Jr. The Buckeyes currently have the No. 7 class in the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings, one spot behind LSU.
