Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb four-star quarterback Teddy Jarrard announced his commitment to Notre Dame on Thursday during a live broadcast on the Rivals YouTube Channel.

Rivals’ No. 2 ranked passer in the 2027 class chose to play for head coach Marcus Freeman and the Irish over his other finalists in Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State.

“Coach Freeman has been great,” Jarrard said. “Their culture is different from everybody else’s.

“Not many places have a coach like Coach Freeman. That stands out from the rest. You want to go to a place with a great head coach, a great coaching staff and they’ve been great to me.”

Tabbed as the nation’s No. 52 prospect regardless of position, Jarrard becomes commit No. 3 for Notre Dame in the 2027 class. Future position coach Gino Guidugli was the lead recruiter. Offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock was also involved.

From the program tradition, to the excellence off the field, to the prestige, campus and the team playing at the highest level, Notre Dame checked all the boxes.

“Their past is a lot different than a lot of schools,” Jarrard said. “I think that’s great. They’re a team that’s going to play for the National Title. They have their things they go by and they have standards. A lot of great history at Notre Dame with great players and great coaches that have gone through there. That’s a place I want to be part of.”

As a sophomore the 6-foot-3, 200-pound Jarrard completed 72 percent of his passes for 2,783 yards and 34 touchdowns.  He looks prime to build on that showing as a junior after a terrific showing at this summer’s Rivals Five Star Challenge.

Scouting new Notre Dame commit Teddy Jarrard

Jarrard has all the traits to be terrific under center in South Bend.

Teddy Jarrard turned in the best off-season performance we saw from a 2027 quarterback,” Rivals Director of Scouting Charles Power wrote. “The Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb signal caller was the top arm on hand at Rivals Five-Star.

“Jarrard showed excellent accuracy, consistently dotting receivers during 1-on-1s, placing his passes where only the receiver could make a play. He carried that over into 7-on-7, engineering several impressive touchdown drives, highlighted by a great layered throw into traffic in the back of the end zone.

“Jarrard’s performance builds on a strong sophomore season and has us viewing him as one of the more steady, refined passers in the cycle entering the fall.”

A summer visit to Notre Dame in early June set the tone in this recruitment. The offer a couple weeks later was the one he wanted.

“Coach Gino and Coach Freeman have been really transparent with me and they’ve been great as well,” Jarrard said. “They’re another program I’d fit in scheme wise and they develop their guys pretty well. Those are the two main things I’m looking for.”

Jarrard found them in South Bend.
