Peach State safety Tony Forney commits to Missouri: 'I'm shutting my recruitment down'

Marietta (Ga.) Kell safety Tony Forney took his official visit to Missouri on June 6 and he left Columbia feeling good about the SEC in Columbia. Wisconsin was a competitor and over 30 schools offered the three-star, but he has committed to Eliah Drinkwitz and the Tigers.
“The brotherhood of the players is one of the biggest things that I like about Missouri,” Forney told Rivals. “The hard work they put in, how the coaching staff represents family and the good people in the community, also made them stand out.”
Jacob Yoro was the lead recruiter for Missouri. The two bonded quickly.
“Coach Yoro is a great all-around dude. He is a coach I know can develop me on and off the field so I can become a great all-around man.”
The new Missouri commit spoke highly of the head coach too.
“Coach Drink is a very down-to-earth guy who really knows how to run a program. For him to be able to mentor and pour into me in the future will be really great.”

Forney is Missouri’s 9th commitment this cycle. Some recruits commit, then still explore their options, but that is not Forney’s plan.
“I’m shutting my recruitment down,” Forney said. “I have only visited once, but that is all that it takes. The environment is great. I really knew of my decision right after the official visit. Missouri really separated itself when it comes to family for me.”
