Sacramento State to host hip-hop recording artist and 2026 WR Toosii for home opener

Nau’Jour Grainger, better known as multi-platinum hip-hop recording artist Toosii, will visit Sacramento State for the home opener.
Hornets head cooach Brennan Marion extended a scholarship on Friday to the rapper, singer and songwriter during a FaceTime conversation. He’s a receiver prospect in the 2026 class.
“A blessing and an honor coming from what I come from. Especially to be able to go back and chase my dreams,” Grainger told On3’s Pete Nakos about landing the offer. His representation ‘The Familie’ is helping him through the recruiting process.
Grainger has already taken visits to Maryland and USC, both of which showed him that getting on the field is a possibility.
“Just opened my eyes and showed me that my dreams are right in front of me. Right in arms reach,” he said of the visits to College Park and Los Angeles.

“I’m chasing history. First multi-platinum recording artist to go back to school and play DIVISION I football. Next year I’m gonna be on somebody’s team mark my words!,” he wrote in an Aug. 18 post on X that showed him catching passes at the NC State practice facility.
Grainger played high school football at Rolesville High in Raleigh — his 2015 season highlights can be found here. He originally hails from Syracuse, N.Y., but moved to North Carolina as a young teenager where he began his rap career. He currently has 3.6 million monthly listeners on Spotify and even released a new single ‘Even Then’ last month. He’s most known for songs like ‘Favorite Song’, ‘Love Hurts’ and ‘Pull Up’.
As for a college decision, Grainger tells Nakos he’s aiming for late December, which is after the first signing period.
A couple prospects already committed to Sacramento State in Long Beach (Calif.) Poly receiver Kamarie Smith and Granite Bay (Calif.) High running back Isaiah Ene will also be on campus.
