Peach State WR Sam Turner talks flip to Auburn as Tigers add to nation's No. 4 recruiting class
Atlanta (Ga.) Southwest DeKalb receiver Sam Turner flipped his commitment from Georgia Tech to Auburn on Thursday.
Commit No. 27 for head coach Hugh Freeze and his staff, Turner adds to a class On3 ranks No. 4 nationally.
Future position coach Marcus Davis and Kenyatta Watson were also big in recruiting the 6-foot-3, 190-pound Turner to The Plains.
“Just felt like home,” Turner told On3. “When Coach Davis came today and laid everything out for me it was hard to say no.”
Auburn had been pushing for Turner for a long time.
“They could’ve chose anybody in America,” Turner said. “I prolonged this process since June. I respect they waited and kept recruiting me and it showed a lot.”

Turner loves the trajectory of the program. Auburn recruited a Top 10 class last cycle and working a top five haul in 2025.
“It’s a big class coming in,” Turner said. “Me, Deuce (Knight), Alvin (Henderson), Anquon Fegans, it’s going to be special. The class of 2026 too, it’s going to be a special class.
“I feel like in the next two years we can compete for a Natty. Seriously! Especially with the pieces we have there. Deuce coming in. It’s going to be exciting for the next five years.”
