Stanford flips 4-star RB Ryelan Morris from Baylor

Honey Grove (Texas) four-star running back Ryelan Morris has flipped his commitment from Baylor to Stanford, he announced on Thursday.
Pledged to the in-state Bears since July 28, 2024, Morris is now in the mix for the West Coast ACC program following a visit to Palo Alto over the weekend.
Morris is the No. 192 overall prospect and No. 17 RB in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 26 player in Texas.
The 5-foot-8.5, 160-pounder announced his decision on X:
“I want to take the time to thank everyone who has believed in me up to this point. So many people have poured into me and helped shape me into the man I have become. I’d like to thank every coach who has ever reached out to me and took a chance on a boy from a small school who always dreamed of the opportunities I’ve been able to have Big shout out to my parents, who have supported me in every decision up to this point and made me feel like whatever I decide, I will be successful. With God on my side and knowing that this decision will change my life forever. That being said, I am committed to Stanford University.”
Back in February, Morris told On3’s Chad Simmons that Stanford was in the mix in his process. Oklahoma was also pushing to flip him from the in-state program, but it’s the Cardinal that’s now won out.
“I went to Stanford once last summer coach Agnew is great with me, mom and my family,” Morris told Simmons. “He has been that way with us from the start. Not many guys can say that they have a Stanford offer, so that means a lot to me. They see my grades and talent, so I want to get back out there.”
As a junior for Honey Grove, Morris rushed for 1,200 yards and 25 touchdowns, per MaxPreps. He also threw for three scores and has compiled over 90 total TDs on the ground and through the air during his high school career.

Stanford lands its biggest commitment this cycle
It’s another big recruiting win for Andrew Luck and the new Stanford staff. On Tuesday evening, the Cardinal landed Phoenix Brophy College Prep three-star wide receiver Daylen Sharper, the No. 84 wideout in the cycle. Sharper was also in town for an OV last weekend.
Morris was the top-ranked prospect in Baylor’s 2026 class. He now headlines a budding pledge list for Stanford, one that now checks in inside the top 50 of the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
Morris and Sharper are at the top of the pledge list alongside Los Angeles Loyola three-star EDGE Max Meier, one of three in-state commits for the Cardinal to date. Meier is flanked by Stockton Edison three-star athlete Langdon Horace and Mountain View St. Francis three-star linebacker Chase Cahoon.
Sammamish (Wash.) Eastside Catholic three-star LB Wassie Lugolobi committed in March and is the No. 5 player in Washington. Other commits in the class include: Conroe (Texas) three-star cornerback Xavier Harmon, Brookville (N.Y.) Long Island Lutheran three-star wide receiver Jacob Butler and McMurray (Pa.) Peters Township three-star EDGE Lucas Shanafelt.
