Top 2026 recruit Chamiah Francis commits to Florida State
Top 2026 recruit Chamiah Francis has committed to Florida State, she announced on Friday. The 6-foot-2 post player from Pensacola (FL) Booker T. Washington chose the Seminoles over Alabama, Miami, North Carolina, Louisville, Ole Miss, LSU, Duke and Vanderbilt.
“I really like the energy and their development of bigs,” she previously told Rivals about Florida State.

There were several factors she was considering when choosing a landing spot.
“I’m trying to look at whether the college has the money, the game, and the inclusion for bigs…,” Francis told Rivals in a previous interview. “I also really want it to be family oriented. They have to keep it real with the players and encourage them to be more like family and not compete against each other behind closed doors.”
Florida State is getting a versatile, high-IQ post player in Francis.
“I feel like my motor is my biggest strength,” Francis said in a previous interview. “It’s not only about how good you are but it’s about how long you can go while being good. My jump shot has definitely improved and my reads, my IQ and my mobility have improved a lot over the past few years.”
