Top uncommitted 2026 QBs with National Signing Day less than a month away

December has become the biggest month of the recruiting cycle with the Early Signing Period becoming the de-facto National Signing Day. Dec. 3 is the date for the 2026 class.

A wicked in-season coaching carousel and some big high school campaigns has seen a slew of decommitments and flips this fall. There are still a few prominent quarterbacks that remain uncommitted with NSD less than a month away.

Of the top 100 QBs in the 2026 cycle — according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies — nine are uncommitted. That includes a pair of four-stars.

Below are those nine uncommitted signal-callers, where they rank and who’s in the mix for their pledge down the stretch:

Tradon Bessinger

School: Davis (Utah)
Rivals Industry Ranking: No. 233 NATL. (No. 16 QB)
About: Putting together one of the most impressive seasons in Utah high school football history, Bessinger really blossomed as a recruit this fall. He was committed to Boise State for over five months, but backed off that pledge last month after taking an official visit to Iowa. Bessinger will also take an official visit to BYU next weekend. He’s now the most coveted arm on the market.

Troy Huhn

School: Mission Hills (Calif.)
Rivals Industry Ranking: No. 242 NATL. (No. 19 QB)
About: Huhn was committed to Penn State for over 15 months, but was one of the many to come back on the board after the Nittany Lions fired head coach James Franklin. The four-star is keeping a close eye on where Franklin lands for his next gig, while Stanford is a program that’s working to keep Huhn in-state at the next level.

Jayvon Gilmore

School: Ridge View (S.C.)
Rivals Industry Ranking: No. 470 NATL. (No. 29 QB)
About: Gilmore was committed to Arkansas for over a year, but he decommitted in September and has kept a quiet recruitment since. He began the year at Gaffney High, but withdrew from the school right around the time he decommitted from the Razorbacks. Gilmore reportedly enrolled at Ridge View but has not posted any stats or highlights this fall. North Carolina, Georgia Tech and Arizona are among the schools that have previously offered Gilmore.

Kaneal Sweetwyne

School: Skyridge (Utah)
Rivals Industry Ranking: No. 872 NATL. (No. 52 QB)
About: Sweetwyne was committed to in-state BYU early on but he came back on the board ahead of his senior season. Playing for one of the top programs in the Beehive State, Sweetwyne has been focused on his final year at Skyridge. Utah has been in the mix for his pledge while NC State also emerged this fall.

Nelson Peterson

School: Forney (Texas)
Rivals Industry Ranking: No. 1,012 NATL. (No. 62 QB)
About: The 6-foot-3, 200-pound gunslinger is still on the board late in the cycle while playing for a top-25 team in the Lone Star State. Peterson has notched offers from Texas Tech, UTEP, Sacramento State, Wake Forest, Utah State and UTSA. The Red Raiders had him in Lubbock for an official visit this summer, but Peterson’s recruitment has been quiet since.

John Johnson

School: Edna Karr (La.)
Rivals Industry Ranking: No. 1,182 NATL. (No. 70 QB)
About: Leading the way for the top-ranked team in Louisiana and one of the most notable high school programs in the South, “Hollywood” Johnson is a former Liberty commit. The 6-foot senior just decommitted from the Flames on Wednesday. Washington State is the latest to offer, doing so last month.

Ziondre Williams

School: Anna (Texas)
Rivals Industry Ranking: No. 1,214 NATL. (No. 77 QB)
About: An impressive dual-threat weapon, Williams led Anna to a 7-3 regular season. He’s also performed well on the summer 7v7 circuit in the past. He has offers from UTSA, Southern Miss, UTEP, Missouri State and others.

Grant Smith

School: Grand Oaks (Texas)
Rivals Industry Ranking: No. 1,554 NATL. (No. 95 QB)
About: Smith is a four-year starter at the high school level and has quarterbacked Grand Oaks to six wins so far this fall. He threw for over 2,000 yards as a junior. He has garnered Power Four interest and was trending toward Kansas State this summer. Baylor, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Arkansas are among his other reported offers.

Romin Seymour

School: Ridge Point (Texas)
Rivals Industry Ranking: No. 1,566 NATL. (No. 97 QB)
About: Transferring to Ridge Point for his senior campaign, Seymour is amidst an undefeated season as the Panthers gear up for the playoffs at 10-0. The 6-foot-5 QB has great size, has been impressive on Friday nights in the Lone Star State and currently holds offers from Baylor, Colorado, Mizzou and others.
