Plano (Texas) three-star safety Bradley Brown has flipped his commitment from TCU to Vanderbilt, he announced on Friday.

Committed to the Horned Frogs since June 10, Brown is now set to leave the Lone Star State in a big win for Clark Lea and the Commodores. Vandy was previously a finalist for Brown before he chose TCU the first time around. 247Sports’ Mike Roach was the first to report Brown’s new decision.

Brown is the No. 673 overall prospect and No. 58 safety in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 90 senior in Texas.

There’s always surplus talent in Texas and Vandy is taking advantage of that this cycle. The Commodores now have five Texans in their 2026 class, with Brown near the top alongside Katy Paetow three-star defensive lineman Daryl Campbell.

Vandy now has 19 commits in its class that ranks No. 40 nationally, according to the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. That’s good for No. 13 in the SEC, ahead of Kentucky, Mississippi State and Arkansas.

Through five games as a senior for Plano, the 6-foot-1, 180-pounder has racked up 46 total tackles, four pass-breakups, a forced fumble and an interception. The Wildcats are currently the No. 125 team in Texas, per the Massey Ratings.

TCU’s 2026 class, which ranks No. 34 nationally, is now down to 18 commits. Brown leaves Sonny Dykes and Co. with three defensive back commits, including Temple (Texas) four-star safety Jason Bradford, the No. 33 safety in the nation.

More on Vandy Recruiting

Lea and his staff continue to make noise on the field this fall and are now trying to parlay that into wins on the recruiting trail with the early signing period less than eight weeks out. In the 2024 cycle, Vandy inked the nation’s No. 39 class. Last cycle, it finished all the way at No. 72.

Of the 19 commits in the class, 14 different states are represented. Mississippi is the only state along with Texas that has multiple commits on the Vandy pledge list thus far.

Owensboro (Ky.) Rivals four-star running back Evan Hampton flipped to the Commodores from Louisville in July and he remains atop the class. He’s now Rivals’ No. 27 RB this cycle. Other top commits in the class include: Harrisburg (N.C.) Mooresville EDGE Jace McCallum, Chattanooga (Tenn.) McCallie wide receiver Keeyshawn Tabuteau, Montgomery Village (Md.) Bullis safety Chris Tangelo and San Fransisco Archbishop Riordan quarterback Michael Mitchell Jr.
