A loss in the regular season finale that was part of an above-.500 campaign often creates a clash between the here-and-now feeling and the collective sentiment of the regular season that just ended.
This was not an easy year for the Sun Devils by any means, and there are certainly some positives to take away from dealing with what seemed like a Mount Everest of obstacles. Nonetheless, the loss to its in-state rival merely revealed shortcomings that had been present all year and deficiencies that would not be negated against a quality opponent.
