Ivy 2024 Recap
After spending time at cornerback in his first year with the Beavers in 2023 and dealing with injury, Ivy made the move to safety ahead of 2024, and it paid dividends. He played in all 12 games, starting four, and saw 297 snaps on the season. He tallied 35 tackles, one tackle for loss, and a pass breakup, and found his calling card at safety. He had his most effective season as a Beaver, and it looked like he was closing out his OSU career on a high note, before the JUCO ruling gave him another season.
Ivy 2025 Outlook
Like Nikko Taylor, Ivy was able to take advantage of the recent court ruling that granted players who had begun their careers in JUCO another season. Ivy chose to take advantage of that extra season and will return for his final campaign with the Beavers in 2025. Considering how effectively Ivy showed out as a safety last season, the thought of him back with Skyler Thomas and Jaheim Patterson is one effective 1-2-3 punch at the safety spot. Ivy should play a key leadership role in the backend, and he’ll see a healthy amount of snaps in that trio of a rotation. Ivy’s return for his final go-around was a big coup for the Beaver defense, and he’ll play a big role in their resurgence this season.
