All nine Duke players who were on the court for double-digit minutes hit at least two shots, pacing the way for the Blue Devils to score their most points in seven years.

Duke won 114-59 at Army on Tuesday night at Christl Arena. It’s the most points since Duke scored 118 in a season-opening rout of Kentucky in 2018.

The No. 4 Blue Devils (3-0) didn’t have a player hit 20 points, either. Freshman Dame Sarr led the way with 19 points — an impressive step forward after he scored a combined 10 in Duke’s first two games. He was 6-for-8 from the field, 3-for-5 on 3-pointers.

Isaiah Evans scored 17 points, hitting four 3s. Patrick Ngongba II had 16 points and nine rebounds, while Cameron Boozer scored 15 points and also had nine rebounds. Darren Harris scored 15 points off the bench, making 5 of 7 3-pointers, and Cayden Boozer had a 10-point, eight-assist game.

Duke made 16 of 37 3-pointers. In the event you think Duke shot a lot of 3s — Army (1-2) was 12-for-49. The Black Knights only took 19 shots from inside the arc.

Duke had 25 assists on 37 made field goals. Along with Boozer’s team-high eight, Cameron Boozer, Caleb Foster and Ngongba each had four assists.

While the final score indicates it one way, it wasn’t a blowout for the entire time. Duke’s lead was 35-26 roughly 16 minutes into the game, as a feisty Army team hit some shots early while the Blue Devils settled for long-range shots.

Duke closed the first half strong, taking a 49-30 lead to halftime. After Army made a 3-pointer on its first possession of the second half, the Blue Devils scored the next 17 points for a 68-33 lead.

Duke’s advantage ballooned from there, into the 55-point final margin.

TIP-INS …

– Duke had four “kill shots” in this game — defined as a run of at least 10 points. The Blue Devils had runs of 12 and 11 points in the first half, and 17 and 10 in the second half.

So, for intermittent portions of this game, Duke outscored Army 50-0.

– Army was led by Jackson Furman’s 20 points. He was 7-for-13 from the field and made 5 of 9 3-pointers, playing 19 minutes.

No other Black Knight had double-figure points.

– Duke won its first two games by a combined 56 points and won this game by 55.
