One of the Minnesota Golden Gophers’ prized commitments in the 2026 recruiting class, four-star in-state tight end Roman Voss, finished off his high school football career on Friday night at US Bank Stadium in tremendous fashion

Voss, in the Minnesota Class AA state championship game, scored all three touchdowns for Jackson County Central as the Huskies defeated the Goodhue Wildcats 20-15. The Huskies, with the wi,n completed an undefeated 13-0 season while winning their second-straight state championship.

The Gophers’ commitment on top of his three touchdowns also ran for 252 yards on 38 carries, an average of 6.6 yards per carry. The do-it-all athlete also had 80 passing yards for the Huskies in the win, totaling 332 yards of total offense.

The Rivals Industry Rankings rank Voss as the No. 280 player nationally and the No. 13 tight end in the country, as well as the No. 2 player in the state of Minnesota. Voss committed to the Gophers in June over Alabama but also held offers in his recruitment from Auburn, Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Miami, Oklahoma, USC, and Wisconsin, among others.
