A second official visitor for Minnesota this weekend has been confirmed. On Monday morning, On3/Rivals national basketball reporter Joe Tipton reported that top-30 overall recruit Quinn Costello will be visiting the Golden Gophers this week.

Tipton is expected to arrive in Minneapolis on Wednesday and will stay through Thursday. It is the second official visit that Costello will have taken in his recruitment, after previously visiting Purdue this past weekend.

In early August, The Newman School (MA) four-star prospect released a top-six of MichiganMichigan StateMinnesotaNorth Carolinaand Texas.

The Rivals’ prediction machine currently favors Michigan State at 32.8% with Purdue and Minnesota just behind the Boilermakers at 28.7% and 24.6% respectively.

Costello was one of this summer’s biggest risers in the rankings after an impressive summer on the UAA Next Circuit with the Middlesex Magic. Thanks to his strong summer, Costello jumped up over 100 spots in the most recent Rivals rankings update.

In the Rivals rankings, Costello is ranked as the No. 28 player nationally, as well as the No. 5 power forward and the top player in the state of Massachusetts. He also ranks No. 47 in the Rivals Industry Ranking.

Here’s what Rivals’ Senior National Basketball Recruiting Analyst Jamie Shaw had to say about Costello’s ascent this summer.

Quinn Costello took major steps this summer with his production, and it was not due to a growth spurt or an added skill; no, it was because of his confidence. His confidence took a major step forward this summer, as he embraced being a top option on his Middlesex Magic team on the UAA Next Circuit. Costello is a 6-foot-10 forward with a smooth shooting stroke and fluid athleticism. He showed this summer that he can spread the floor, get to spots of one and two dribbles, or straight-line drive a sloppy closeout to finish above the rim in traffic. Still with upside to grow into, Costello took a big step this summer, and rose 102 spots I the latest 2026 ranking update.”

Minnesota currently holds a pair of commitments in its 2026 recruiting class from a pair of in-state talents: Wayzata small forward Nolen Anderson and East Ridge standout point guard Cedric Tomes. Both are ranked as top-250 talents in the country. The Gophers’ current class is ranked 26th nationally and seventh in the Big Ten.
