The month of July started on a great note for Georgia Tech’s 2026 recruiting class as tight end target Nathan Agyemang made his commitment to the Jackets on Tuesday afternoon via social media.

Agyemang, who plays his high school football just up the road from Georgia Tech at Kell (Ga.) in Marietta, chose the Jackets over other top three schools NC State and Duke, as well as more than 20-plus other offers from programs all across the nation. Agyemang told JOL over the weekend that his choice came down to where he felt most comfortable and how the Tech coach staff had a specific plan for how they would use his talents.

“I chose Georgia Tech because it feels like home, and I believe in what they’re building,” said Agyemang. “The coaching staff laid out a clear plan to develop me, and I’ll have a chance to make an impact early. I’m excited to join a program that’s on the rise.”

Agyemang is the 18th commitment in the 2026 class for Georgia Tech and 11th on the offensive side of the ball. He is the second tight end to join the class following the commitment of Jack Richerson back on June 20th.

Agyemang’s decision kicks off what should be a busy week for the Jackets’ recruiting board as several priority targets are expected to make their commitments in the coming days, including edge Chris Carbin, running back Christopher Talley and defensive end Darryl Rivers on July 4th, defensive tackle Freddie Wilson on July 6th and more.

Agyemang had a message for Georgia Tech fans and what they should be looking for when he eventually steps on campus on The Flats following his senior season at Kell.

“Fans should expect a competitor and someone who’s going to give their all to the program,” said Agyemang.

Agyemang took his official visit to Georgia Tech back on June 6th and described the visit as going “great” as the Tech staff made a “strong push.” He also took official visits to Duke and NC State while canceling previously-scheduled visits to Wake Forest, Rutgers and Louisville. Agyemang said the Jackets’ staff view him as a versatile weapon at tight end and H-back similar to the role that Avery Boyd played last season.
