Jackets add talented LB Outlaw to 2026 class
Georgia Tech has been looking to close out its 2026 recruiting class with difference-makers, especially on the defensive side of the ball, and the Jackets’ staff was able to secure one of those guys on Monday with the commitment of linebacker Braylon Outlaw.
Outlaw, a three-star (87.37) prospect from Pike Road (Ala.), made the commitment official via his social media after decommitting from Tennessee back in late October. Along with the Volunteers, he had other Power-4 offers from Ole Miss, Oregon, Michigan, South Carolina, Missouri, West Virginia, Maryland, Duke and Arkansas.
Georgia Tech surges into recruitment during Outlaw’s senior seaosn
Georgia Tech’s pursuit of Outlaw heated up back in September and October as he made a couple visits to The Flats, including an official on the weekend of Oct. 24th to see the Jackets defeat Syracuse. In the end, Outlaw said the opportunities for him at Tech were too good to pass up.
“It was a combination of things. The opportunity to play and the education were the top deciding factors for me,” Outlaw told JOL during an interview this week. “I am very excited. I love the Georgia Tech environment and the direction the program is headed in.”
Outlaw bonds with Tech LBs coach Eubanks
Another big part of Outlaw’s interest and eventual commitment to Georgia Tech was his quickly-deepening relationship with first-year linebackers coach Darius Eubanks, who Outlaw has a lot of confidence in as his future position coach and the potential of what he can do for him at the college level.
“I’m extremely excited to play for Coach Eubanks,” said Outlaw. “I believe he can definitely help me take my game to the next level.”
Outlaw had a huge senior season for Pike Road in 2025, totaling 80 tackles, 12 tackles-for-loss, four sacks, four QB hurries, three forced fumbles, three interceptions, three passes defensed and two defensive touchdowns. He also scored nine touchdowns offensively as a running back.
Outlaw outlines what GT fans can expect from him
With Outlaw’s commitment, Georgia Tech now has three linebackers in the 2026 class as he joins CJ Gamble and Kymani Morales.
When asked about what Jackets’ fans should expect from him once he officially becomes part of the program soon, Outlaw said they should expect a player that’s going to do whatever it takes to get the job done on the field.
“GT fans should expect a killer,” said Outlaw. “As a player and competitor, I would describe myself as someone who is hungry and itching to get better day in and day out.”
Outlaw will officially sign next week during the early signing period and then be on Georgia Tech’s campus as an early enrollee in January.
