Players to know

Jacobi Heady, Guard/Forward

For a Chicago native, Jacobi Heady has had an interesting college basketball career. He spent two years at Wabash Valley College, then transferred to Bethune-Cookman for the 2023-24 season. He was a full-time starter that season, averaging 15.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game, leading to a transfer to Central Michigan for 2024-25.

Last season, he was a full-time starter who averaged 15.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists. But he decided to transfer back to BC for this season.

So far, the 6-foot-6, 200-pounder has started all eight games he has played and leads the team with 32.3 minutes played per game. He averages 15.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, both team highs.

A majority of his work on offense comes inside the 3-point line with 81 total shot attempts and 37 free-throw attempts, while attempting 29 3-pointers.

But he’s affective from everywhere, shooting 49.4 percent from the field, 51.7 percent from 3 and 81.1 percent from the line.

Arterio Morris, Guard

After starting his career at Texas as a backup in 2022-23, Arterio Morris did not play in 2023-24 and stepped back to play at South Plains Junior College in 2024-25. He started nine of the 23 games he played in.

That led to his transfer to BC for this season.

He opened the season with a double-double against Auburn and has scored 13.7 points per game. So far, he has appeared in all nine games with six starts.

Morris leads the team with 118 shot attempts and is second with 31 3-point attempts. His 36 free-throw attempts is also second on the team, while his 4.8 rebounds per game is third on the roster.

He leads the team with 32 assists, 19 steals and seven blocks.
