Which Rutgers Football players will attend Big Ten Media Days in July?

Rutgers football has announced the three Scarlet Knights that will attend the 2025 Big Ten Media Days out in Las Vegas, Nevada with quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis, wide receiver Ian Strong, and linebacker Dariel Djabome all set to join head coach Greg Schiano on July 22nd for the multi-day event.
For each of these players, it will be their first time attending the event. However it shouldn’t be all that shocking to see any of these three on the list. Kaliakmanis was the leader of the offense last season, putting together one of the better performances from a Rutgers Football quarterback in recent history as he threw for 2,696 yards, 18 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Not to mention he was also a team captain last season.
As for Strong, he’s come a long way since arriving on the banks. Strong first arrived at Rutgers as a safety, before quickly moving to wide receiver and emerged as a big play threat, averaging 14.4 yards per catch as a freshman in 2024 and 15.7 yards per game as a sophomore. He is expected to be on several NFL Draft radars this upcoming season.
Lastly is Djabome and he’s the lone defensive player invited to media day by the Scarlet Knights, after they’ve had to least two defensive players attend in each of the last two events. Djabome had a rough start to the year, filling in for one of several injured linebackers, but bounced back very nicely to lead the team with 105 total tackles and eight tackles for loss on the year, while earning All-Big Ten Third Team (Media).
This year’s event marks the first time that the Big Ten Conference plans to host the multi-day season preview on the west coast, signaling an honor to the four new West Coast programs that joined the conference ahead of last season in Oregon, UCLA, USC, and Washington.
The Scarlet Knights will be featured on the first of the three-day event and it will be a three day event starting on July 22nd and go through July 24th, with coverage each day starting at 1:00pm ET and televised on the Big Ten Network.
Head coach Greg Schiano will enter the 2025 season with a 94-101 overall record with the Scarlet Knights. Rutgers Football has won six or more games in two straight seasons, as Schiano and crew hope to make it to another bowl game this season.
